Black Monday
Heavy and dirty, Black Monday brings classic metal to the most demanding headlines.
Distressed type allows us enjoy the appearance of weathered lettering without waiting for paint to fall away. But double letters have always been the achilles heel of distressed fonts; words like “beer” and “pizza” always reveal the font behind the curtain. Black Monday solves this problem by using OpenType programming to cycle through three different character sets, giving type a more random appearance. Every character was distressed so that letters do not repeat in their accented forms.
Black Monday gives distressed type a convincing edge. Being built from heavy letters that have already stood the test of time ensure that it remains legible despite heavy distressing. When you need type to feel like a twelve-cylinder diesel engine blasted through a dirty PA system Black Monday is there.
